Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Chief Minister and Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee is set to commence her election campaign starting from Dhubulia of Krishnanagar on Sunday, rallying in support of Krishnanagar's Trinamool candidate Mahua Moitra in the afternoon. The campaign will mark the beginning of several election programs in North Bengal, with plans to initiate campaigning for the region from the first week of April, starting potentially from April 4. Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to hold election campaign meetings in Jalpaiguri city on April 5, followed by engagements in Dhupguri on April 13 and Phulbari on April 16.
Notably, Mamata Banerjee's entry into the election campaign comes after her recent injuries sustained from a fall in her house, with supporters eagerly awaiting her participation. Despite her injuries, the Trinamool leader's commitment to campaign signals the party's fervor ahead of the elections.
